Circa 1850's, this is an American Rococo Revival 4-light Gasolier. We think it can be attributed to Archer-Warner, a company in Philadelphia in 1854. There were a number of American Companies in 1850's selling these chandeliers, most notably Cornelius and Baker out of Philadelphia.
The castings have a very superior quality and the fixture is completely cast brass. The stellar gold patina is original to the fixture. Four figural grape vine chains adorn the Gasolier from just below the canopy down to the level of the arms. Overall this chandelier is festooned with figural grapevine motif and in the center there is a basket detail that has a cranberry glass insert behind the diagonal basket weave. Lastly, it has simple Transfer etched Greek Key Gas Shades.
This fixture is in truly excellent original condition. It was wired for electric in the 1920's.
